Swimming in my mermaid tail! I thought all those people who watch me and didn't think it would work in water would want to see! You can see videos of it here: [link]

Please read my journal to learn how to help me achieve my mermaid dream!

Surprisingly it was much easier to swim on my stomach than on my back.

Is it easy to swim in that?

it wasn't at first. It got all suctiony because of the air and water. And it was weird having my feet together. At first, my arms wanted to do all the work and I was exhausted. But once I gave in and let my feet get used to being in the one flipper it propelled me quite a bit and I got used to it. I didnt feel like I was moving far but then Id turn around and be really far away! I didnt feel graceful but then when I watched the videos it looked great! It was a challenge that's for sure. But it IS my practice tail. It was totally cool though

What you feel, is ok! it's never gonna change anyway

Well, the dolphin kick, which is the one you'd be using, is one of the most propulsive kicks, which is why it's part of the Butterfly, which is... very difficult. The tail looks much better on you outside a bathtub :P

You're definitely a poor little mermaid who was born legged due to global warming and now we can do something to help you come back to the sea were you belong.
Specially because most mermaid reference stock images are bad or mediocre, and usually indoor (which makes little sense with mermaids) so i'm sure you'll give us some great stock material in a natural environment plus allthe spectacular photos you're going to see when you meet those photographers you're used to work with.
I really want to donate so i'll be researching alternative paying methods and i'll send you a note when i´m paid my salary to see how can i make my little contribution come to your hands.

PS: i don't know how to swin so this may be rated one of my most stupid questions ever but it is possible to you or any other swimming mermaid make a quick intense kicking and then shooting off using the impulse but not kicking your legs again in a while like mermaids do in films or cartoons?
:iconraine-angel:
nah, it didnt quite work like that! lol
