Artist's Comments

I know, I know. I already uploaded a bunch of these. But I was looking through them and realized I really liked this one so I wanted to upload it.
That mermaid bra I made dubbed "the sprinkle bra" barely lasted sadly. In theory the idea for it was great and seemed practical and photographically I liked the result but they just felt apart on me. So I made a new one that you'll see soon.

As for the tail a few things have changed since you've seen it! It's nearly impossible to get a monofin in NS. :( so a local scuba diver helped me pick out fins that would give the tail the structure I was looking for and grant me the ability to swim wearing it!

So you'll see some new photos of it soon. No, it's not latex I'm aware it comes out so shiny in photos that people think it's latex. But nope.

People ask me where I got it, well I had it made but the tailor actually died so I didn't expect to actually get it. It's also only my starter tail. I'm working up to an expensive silicone model but I need to get strong enough swimming with this one first.

It's pretty exciting. I've been working out lots and practicing my breathing so I can deliver awesome underwater photos.

Anyway watch for the new photos! I haven't been able to do much because 1: it's really hard to take a self portrait with the thing on and 2: I recently broke some toes and I've been healing with those!

For now, stock of the tail can be found :iconraine-angelstock: and if you're interested in my modeling :iconeternalsunshinespot:

edit:

On the suggestion of some deviants I decided to set up a fundraiser account on paypal for my mermaid tail that I really want. In Canadian $ +SH it's going to cost me between 600-700$. I'm saving up for it but if people really are willing to donate I'd appreciate it. You can see what the tail will essentially look like here: [link] and you can donate here: [link]
Any donation helps and I've been talking with ~ericbb about offering an image for free as a thankyou for donations over 10$ and I'd love any suggestions anyone else has for thank-yous.

Honestly, it's been my dream to do underwater mermaid stuff and model with a real tail like this. I saved up for this tail: [link] but it's cheap and you get what you pay for. It's what I call my ';practice tail'. All my watchers know I've been going through some health stuff involving my legs and I've been working so hard to keep them strong and getting this tail and using it is part of my motivation. The tailor of the tails makes every single one to the models exact measurements and they are completely functional underwater. I've been trying to save up for it on my own but I think I've realized that without help I wont realize this dream. Currently I pay the usual bills you'd expect someone my age to pay, rent, groceries, transportation, phone/utilities, but also health i.e. prescriptions, treatments, etc. Obviously with the lack of funds in general around the world right now I'm not expecting much... I know we're all hurting for cash. But anything anyone can do to help would be greatly appreciated :) And you can always note me with ideas for working things out. Thanks

You're going to swim with it in pool and not the ocean, right? :fear:
:iconraine-angel:
hehe it can be used in the ocean. but since the oceans here are absolutely freezing I'll probably just bask in the waves for a few shots! lol

What you feel, is ok! it's never gonna change anyway

Nice tail (I never thought I say that to anyone, ever). You could also make it a pool shoot, use the pool UW lights for great contrast, and if you shoot facing towards the deep end the background will be so dark & blurry that it could just be anywhere.
As for the monofin...mmm. did you try attaching 2 fins together at an angle to fit the tail's end? (just a suggestion). Anyways I like the concept. Good underwater shots make for interesting & beautiful photography...And mermaids make sensuous, graceful models ;)

P.S. Seashell bra concept too overdone for you? :P
:iconersatzlemming:
Yes, I'd hate for you to be turned into frozen mermaid sticks. Mind you, a few Atlantic waves may be enough to do it! :D
