A little collage that takes a look at my back issues and tries to turn it into art :D that line you see on my back I have all the time. In order to not have it in photos I have to change my balance around, stretch, and elongate that side of my body. It's pretty much the only visible sign of scoliosis. Everything else only shows up on a x-ray. Still, it's representative of how everything is connected. That twist in my spine hikes one hip up higher than the other, and points it in the wrong direction. That pulls to muscles of my lower back and my pelvic muscles very tight to one side. Combine that with my IC and you have a recipe for a lot of pain! Working very hard to re-train my muscles and am hopeful that with the addition of a chiropractor that my scoliosis will be functioning and we'll be able to (in time) re-shape my body. Our bodies are such an intricate machine!

If you're going to give critique keep in mind the subject matter and that this was a self portrait, thanks.

first time I've heard in detail of your health woes, sorry for the years of pain that you have obviously had to endure, I too live with pain, GOD saw fit to give me a poor set of ankles and knees made all the worse after my short and illustrious career playing football, plus some back issues have caused me more than my fair share of sleepless nights. Hate to go cliche here but what doesn't kill us makes us stronger and in the end we are the better because of it. You go on to point out the details on your body and thats brave and honest-not many people I know would do such a thing(including myself) but this is what I see; a beautiful, strong woman who, despite adversity and pain has persevered and remained true to herself and dedicated to her goals. We are not perfect creatures none of us, only the devine can make that claim-its whats inside that defines us(good or bad) and makes us unique and special-God bless you kid-you're gorgeous! :)

Thanks so much for sharing this photo with us. I also have severe back problems, including scoliosis, kyphosis and lordosis. If you would like to see uncensored photos of me (including my back) check out my "scraps" section.

This is a great piece, the contrast of the colour and value is great.

Hope you get feeling better :)
